Are English 1/2 and Calculus 1/2 Semester Courses?

I was offered conditional admission at Georgia Tech for Fall 2012 if I complete the required first-year courses for my degree at another college. I looked at my degree on the chart, aerospace engineering, and it says that I need English 1, English 2, Calculus 1, Calculus 2, Chemistry, and Physics 1. I am uming these are semester courses, as I cannot see how without AP credits I would be able to take both english and calculus courses at once. If you are going to say it depends on the college, I will be going to the University of Alabama.
