Why are the flag decals on planes backwards (blue & stars) on the right side of plane and correct on the left?

Its just Because Of the Decal Machine they use for their Jets They use, I used to see that a lot in the Navy On the F-14s I worked on It would drive me nuts! Then They switched to a different system for Decals ( Mind you we had to change them all the time to keep the Jets Looking Perfect) And no more Backward decals. Its Kinda like the ones for windshields on Vehicle's Sometimes you see them Backwards .
