Improvements to my Space Marine armies? (500 points PC, 1000 and 1500 vannila)?

What tactics will you use for the army? I play Tau and my 500pt. army is more a hit and run army than a stand your ground army. For Space Marines, I commonly see a rush forward and slaughter tactic like Orks so.......
