Help with Scene Hair ideas? Coon tails?

Im getting my hair dyed black & im having stripes thrrough it.. i want loads of different colours such as purple blue pink green. Im going to die my fringe blonde and have strands of my hair with blonde and black stripes. Does anyone know how to do do them? My mums friends a hairdresser and said she will but i just wondered how to take care while washing your hair etc? Thanksx
