What is the best way to start learning movie editing (Adobe Elements)?

I just got a camera and started working with Adobe Elements 3.0 but find it overwhelmingly complex. I don't find it quite as intuitive as other programs I worked with and don't really know how to get the confidence from which it starts go get fun to find things out. How long does it take to learn editing?
