Skyline r34?????????

i know you cant really bring the skylines over and stuff like that but what if i buy a skyline r34 for 15,000 in japan or canada or the uk and just have the drivetrain taken out and the engine and the other stuff that's not suppose to be on it and just have the body FRAME with all the interior stuff still in it shiped over to southern california and then take all the lights that i need to take out to make it d.o.t approved and just have a usa engine put into with a drivetrain from over here will that work seeing how it was just the body and i put all legal and smog able stuff on it
