Can use you use a truck-bed liner for the bottom of a fibergl boat?

I have a square end fibergl canoe, the bottom is starting to look a little rough. I was wondering if it was possible to use a truck-bed liner (Rustoleum/ Rhino type liner) to re-purpose the bottom. I know that it needs to be sanded, and primed first...but what do you think? would it work? I can't afford new boat at this time. Do you know anyone that has tried it?
